IMPACT REPORT 2020-2025

Our Story

Two Girls and a Bible began as a vision from founder Jennifer C. Tabora in 2012. Having grown up as a child of addiction and finding redemption in Christ, she felt called to encourage women in recovery and help rebuild families affected by the trauma of addiction. In 2017, Jennifer met her co-founder, Kimberly Receveur, and they formed a lasting friendship. Together, they launched the vision in 2020 after writing Jennifer’s story, "The Something Shiny Journey."

The team of women that the Lord continues to develop is passionate about unifying the Body of Christ through collaborative efforts to reach women in crisis centers, shelters, and recovery groups. By partnering with local churches, home groups, and Christian-based businesses, we have a unique opportunity to identify gaps in the services available to our community.

Our collaborative efforts support “Monarch Safehaven,” which focuses on rebuilding families from the remnants of trauma. Recovery from chaotic environments, familial influences, and genetic predispositions is a long-term process. We prioritize encouraging individuals to continue their journey with Christ in every area of their lives. Our goal is to help each person pursue their purpose in the promise they received through Christ Jesus. We do this through ongoing biblical mentorship, classes, scholarship programs, and hands-on partnerships.

The Lord has entrusted us with three powerful directives to carry out our singular mission: "Go and Tell."

1. Move forward as if we have everything we need.

2. There's enough space in the sky for a multitude of stars

3. There is one standard by which we measure everything: the Word of God.

Two Girls and a Bible showing up to my recovery group has helped me tremendously. If it wasn’t for them I would have quit the program by now, but their continued support, love, and the way they share Jesus so openly has helped change my life.
